Disabling applicance clocks | |||||||||||||||||
Many appliances (microwave, oven, coffee maker, DVD player, etc.) have built in clocks. The chances of synchronizing these clocks diminish with every new appliance, and if the power ever goes out, you've got a whole lot more work! Why not install a simple switch that simply lets you turn the clock off -- how many wrong clocks do you really need?

I assume you're living in Bagdad. Here in Helsinki the power goes out so rarely the adjustment is no bother at all. You could install a line switch to turn off the appliance totally when not in use.
On my stuff, if you don't set the clock, it does not display anything.
And think of the benefit spring and fall with daylight savings time changes. I have too many clocks to update now. Who had the bright idea that I needed four clocks in thekitchen anyway with the microwave, oven, coffee maker, and indor/outdoor thermometer. One clock is enough thank you very much. I'd love to turn the others off.
The careful placement of black electricians tape is the cheap fix for this "problem". . . .
