I would like to see air or hydraulic jacks, like those on IRL,CART or Trans Am racing cars installed on ALL passenger vehicles. I know the instances of people hurt or even killed by their vehicle falling off the jack, supplied from the manufacturer or purchased in auto parts stores, is relativly small but even one is too many. The system would use a small air or hydraulic pump mounted on the engine and plumbed to actuators just in front of the rear tires and behind the front tires. A switch on the dashboard, with a guard on it, could activate the system. The system could also have the option to activate only one actuator or any combination desired.

You would need at least two of them and perhaps four. Sounds quite expensive. For the same price, a few extra air bags would save lots more lives.
Barry, What have airbags got to do with jacking up your car to change a tire or do an oil change?????
