New image file format | |||||||||||||||||
Use the Tschumperlé-Deriche (Greycstoration) algorithm (or other noise-reduction algorithm) as the mathematical basis for an image format. Store the coefficients of the equations in a data file in a manner similar to the discrete cosine coefficients used in JPG.T-D is a *very* numerically intensive algorithm and currently is a non-starter, but CPUs are improving fast. This is an anti-patent posting.

What is the end goal of the new format? To store many files on largere computers that can process the images?(Storage is cheap nowadays, even for Flash)For digital cameras or viewing devices? It will make them a bit bigger and power hungry.
