Colored Needles | |||||||||||||||||
There are currently infrared technologies that allow you to see a specific depth inside of the body, in order to guide needles, etc. to desired locations. If the needles or catheters had colored tip, it would be easier for the clinician to see the device moving, particularly in small veins

Is there anything that is stopping this innovation?
initiative, the right team of experts, and cash would more than likely be the only inhibitor. Getting the right bonding material that would be safe, adhere without leaving particles behind in the blood stream, and eventually gaining FDA approval are some of the critical steps.
good idea! or a light at the end of the needle...
What I've seen of infra-red displays showed no color. Any material that absorbed heat at a different rate than surrounding tissues should stand out in a display.
I have no experience with this technology, so excuse me if this is stupid. Are you sure this would be helpful? Is there a problem seeing the needles now?
I agree with sand. You wouldn't see the colour differences... only when the needles are not inside.
