Recharging a cellphone | |||||||||||||||||
When I set my cellphone up for recharge I frequently forget to take it with me when I leave the house. It is easier to react to a beeper than a light indicator that indicates the charge is complete. If the phone beeped continuously when it was fully charged and still on the charger I would surely remove it to my belt carrier and not forget it. Since the phone has all the audio capabilities it could also be programmed to announce more or less continuously that it was fully charged.

That sounds like a good idea. It should be designed so that you could turn the feature off if you don't want it. That way no one can complain if they don't like it. I personally would use it as I've had the same problem.
I am not the biggest fan of bells and whistles. My biggest problem with this idea is when the phone becomes fully charged at 2:00 am, and starts to announce this fact, I will probably be asleep.
Good one. They beep like hell when they are about out of juice, so why not when they are done charging. I also agree with being able to disable the feature, for those of us without this kind of problem.
Since phones have built in clocks it should be possible to make the fully charged beep automatically inactive during chosen sleep hours.
I don't think I'd personally be a big fan of another beeping techno gadget. However, it is easy to walk out the door without one of the big three: phone, keys and wallet. What I do like about the idea is knowing when the phone is charged without having to pick it up and look at it. So how about a blinking light or a setting that allowed for an audible reminder?
Most of the new cellphones have automatically cut off the charge afterthe battery is fully charged and hence the idea sounds redundant.
Pep, it might automatically cut-off the charge, but it won't automatically jump into your pocket.
I agree with this idea. I often forget to pick-up my phone when it's charged, then leave without it.
