iPod/iPhone-Song Trials & More | |||||||||||||||||
Now that the iPhone finally brings high speed internet directly to the iPod, Apple should allow users to browse the entire Apple iTunes library directly from the iPhone. You can already browse your own iTunes files using their new Cover Flow technology, but why not show files available for purchase as well. Now it can be a spur of the moment decision (say a song request in the middle of a party) to purchase that one song from the '80s. The cost of the song could even be billed through our mobile service provider's account. Users should also be able to sample an entire song (perhaps up to 3 times) and then purchase it if they like it. To summarize, we should be able to: (1) Browse all songs available at iTunes.com, (2) Sample the entire song directly from our iPhone, and (3) Buy it directly from the iPhone if we like it. This idea involved too many leaps in technology to be suggested earlier, but I knew it was on the horizon. Now, all the pieces of the puzzle are in place.
