With self-selected colors - the lock and the corresponding key should have the same color, it would be much easier to find the right key to the lock!In addition, at night, we often find it difficult to have the right key as well. this time, keys etched with self-glaring marks would help! the same number, texture or shape could be etched in both the keys and corresponding locks for easy matching when there is no enough light.

It always takes me forever to figure out which key goes where. Remembering color is much easier than memorize cuts. I am surprised key makers have not thought about this idea if the cost variation of making the keys are not very big.
In Hungary, you can buy coloured keys, wide range to choose from (especially children love them). And also there are coloured key-caps that you can put on the head on the key, if it is not coloured. I would be amazed if your country doesn't have such simple thing.
Anyway, it's a great idea :) Already done, but maybe not everywhere as i see now.
