Web 2.0 Flashcard Website | |||||||||||||||||
There are lots of badly done websites that allow people to create flashcards for studying (example: http://www.flashcardmachine.com/). All of these sites are just clunky enough to not be worth using. They generally require lots of page reloads and are not aesthetically pleasing. None of them really make you want to study. The solution would be to build a flashcard website using some of the aesthetics and interface components of Web 2.0 sites, such as those used by 37 Signals in their online collaboration software (example: http://www.basecamphq.com/). (It would probably be built using Ajax, Ruby on Rails, etc...) With greater speed, fewer page reloads, and a nicer design, a website like this could become very useful for a student studying for an exam or brushing up on old material. The website might pay for itself with google adwords, which would present advertising related to the flashcard content created by the user.
