What I love about my Netflix is that I can go back in time and rate any and all the movies I've ever seen. Then, I can look at what my friends have seen and see how our ratings compare. Netflix also suggests books that I might like, based on my and others' ratings. I've learned about hundreds of movies I haven't seen before and re-discovered old favorites.

Why not a site that does the same thing for books? Like any personal/opinion site, this would only work with the support of the online community and networks of people.

To make money, this site would obviously link to Amazon or other online book retailer. This could be revolutionary: people might start reading again!

It could be also be linked to a library or large system of multiple libraries.

Delivery and return could also be incorporated (though books are more difficult/costly to mail than DVDs).

You already can post ratings and reviews on Amazon, and Amazon provides suggestions based on your personal ratings.
