compost pick-up | |||||||||||||||||
Why don't cities pick-up compost separate from trash the same way that they pick-up recyclable items? First it would reduce the amount of waste in landfills. Moreover, the cities could use the compost for landscaping and other parks and recreation projects. Alternatively, they could sell it for agricultural use.

compost done properly smells terrible.i wouldnt like that around the streets.
First off, it isn't compost until the microbes are done eating it.
Second off, a lot of places have laws prohibiting the placement of "yard waste" in the local landfill.
Third off, why would you want me to pay (through my taxes) for you to dispose of something you should be recycling on your own?
I use a mulching lawn mower that, quite seriously, turns anything dry enough into dust.
Contact your local lawn care services to find out where they take their stuff if you can't deal with what you produce. Someone will take it for a price.
