Solution: Numerous services can deliver products to your doorstep (FedEx, PeaPod, Pizza Delivery)
Problem: LOTS of basic errands are either pick-up or drop-off in nature. (Dry cleaning, Drug-store, Video store, Take-out, etc.)
Why must a delivery service also provide a specific product? I propose a delivery/errand service.
For example: I call one night when I'm busy studying, and a delivery agent is sent to the video store to pick up the movie I want to see, the dry cleaner's to pick up my suit for tomorrow's interview, Ruby Tuesday's curbside take-out to grab dinner, and finally to my house to drop it all off. I am then billed for everything in one sum (plus markup or fees). I get everything without taking more than five minutes away from studying. Tomorrow, I can call again to have the videos returned, dry cleaning dropped off, etc.

I agree, but the problem comes from verification & errors. If your dry cleaning never makes it to the vendor, or if the wrong clothes come back, or there are no fries, or its the wron prescription... How does each stage get a receipt?
Maybe the internet and picture/video phones will be able to help, as the delivery person can "show" you what is going on, and the vendor can read instructions from you. This seems potentially do-able... but its not ready yet, I don't think.
