Brilliant idea for lazy bums like me. Also protects your health: don't have to catch your death bringing the garbage out in the rain and don't have to break your back schlepping things up/down the stairs.

You've been spending too much time on airplanes! This is a fascinating idea, but the sort of thing I feel like I'd only see in Sky Mall. That said, the Basic version is probably very inexpensive to produce and you'd make a killing if they sold well!

I'll bet you could configure your slide idea in connection with the shutters. That way they could be attractively stowed away. A simple segmented or sliding hinge assembly with a cable and pulley arrangement could provide a motorized mechanism.

This would be especially useful for the elderly and handicapped. Providing a means for them to be more self sufficient.
