Knowing my balance - ATM | |||||||||||||||||
Do you ever lose track of how much you have in your checking account? Or have you ever tried to withdraw money from the ATM and are surprised to find out you only have $3.12? It would be great to have an option on the ATM that will display and print out the up-to-the minute updates of all your transactions (no delays) so that you can find out right away how you arrived at your balance.

There are some banks that can send you an SMS with your balance or alert you when your account has been used. AMEX actually is offering the service.
I thought this feature was there for my account. I think it depends on the bank that you choose if they have that info available for the ATM pull or it may depend on the ATM's technology that you go to. I know for me that I do not want to know my balance for the next year and half.
yeah, it would be good to get a sms w/ the balance but also, i would like to know "where has my money gone?" so it would be nice to see the recent transactions as well.
Some banks do this already. Mine prints out the last 10 transactions and the current balance.
But naturally, they charge 50c for the "service"....
