Read a book out loud! | |||||||||||||||||
Free software to read books out loud. Let us assume that scanned versions of books are available . Like MP3 players, the hope is that this reader can be incorporated in portable devices (say a car stereo for example). Revenues? Incorporate ads in between. Selling point? I would love to go on long drives on weekends, yet have most of the class work (aka readings) done!

What a wonderful idea!
Great idea. only exists! Textaloud actually does this without ads and you can 'read' your book or part of it into your portable player any time. Best of all you can choose the voices that read it. Beat that. Am not promoting it, but am a damn satisfied customer.
Adobe Reader has this feature--it can read any PDF document. Choose View > Read Out Loud > Activate Read Out Loud or press Shift+Ctrl+Y/Shift+Command+Y. [The latter's for the Mac.]
Interrupt reading out loud:
Choose View > Read Out Loud > Pause or press Shift+Ctrl+C/Shift+Command+C.
Amazon should license this for its Kindle.
