Better to have the membership pound the bad ideas into the turf. Moderation should be used sparingly, and only to counter obvious misuse.

I agree, some of these people are absolute morons.

I think we do have to remember that there is no age limit for computer use. Some of the people posting ideas are apparently quite young and unaware that the things they come up with are beyond current engineering. Some ideas are fantasies at best, but, I imagine that's what some people said about television, computers, and space travel at one time.

So, let's not be too hard on them.

The only kind of moderation I'd support would be disallowing people who do nothing but bash on other people's ideas, while not offering any of their own. I wouldn't mind seeing a "rate comments" feature added. Any one screen name would not be allowed to make more than, say, 10 comments without submitting ideas. Sort of a "put up or shut up". Just to do something about the leeches and naysayers.

Does the I DISAGREE thing amount to the same thing?
