Apple created the iPhone with an iPod+Phone+Internet, and they put OSX inside the device. You are supossed to sync your iPhone with iTunes on your regular computer. Why sync if you already have an operating system in your iPhone. They should have made a docking station where you can plug your iPhone and use a standard keyboard, mouse, monitor and usb ports and -of course- an earpiece. OSX has all the drivers for printers and other stuff and the iPhone could have become the one and only computer for a lot of people that dont need all the power of a desktop computer.

You have probably just described the second or third release of the phone. Of course you will have to buy the new software to load on to it.
I don't know if it has OSX, but it is only flash memory (no HDD), woefully underpowered to be a general purpose computer, so you will need to use a full blown computer to store convert and manage your media, as well as do your normal computing things.
Sure, if all you do is buy content on the device and use it for basic communication, fine.
Great idea! I've always believed the current crop of desktop/laptops provide way more power than the average person needs for simple communications, WP, and spreadsheet analysis.
I don't think the iPhone computer would eliminate the std formats, but would sure be convenient for many.
Maybe this is the future... but no one is going to do their work on an iPhone screen... so unless to iPhone shoves in a projector in there it wont work. Plus, put a 2.4GHz Intel chip in there and we will start having to call the thing iHeat.
