I would like to see DVD music expand beyond the $20 single album on one disc releases, to many releases on one DVD. Instead of a box set of CDs for $50 - $100, I would rather buy 5 albums on a single disc for, say, $30. Granted the profit margin may not be as high, but these release have generally been sold and resold (and re-resold) already. Also, potential audience would expand with a lower price. I would love, for instance, to own all of Talking Heads output on one disc. The storage capacity of a DVD seems to make this possible, with all the advantages of sound quality, packaging, artwork, and legality that mp3 downloading does not provide. With CD re-issues having run their course (and the profits involved dwindling), this seems a good option for an industry that is obviously struggling with ways to remain profitable, let alone viable.

Except there is no standard for putting CDDA tracks on a DVD disc to play them. What would be doable, would be to put the 5 albums or so on a CD-ROM, using one of the recognized compression formats (preferably a secure one), with the entire album art on the disc as well, as PDF files or such.
