Why dont they make water taps measuring the amount of water flown (water meter), so you could SUM all water taps in a house and it reads in a digital display projected in air above the DOOR? For example, water consumption: 98 UNITS, electricity consumption: 67 UNITS that appears when you press a button below the door? The readout is in air, not inside a meter box.

Metering per tap is expensive. Most homes on "city water" (as opposed to a private well) are metered at the water entrance though, so whole water useage is accounted for. Advertising ones water useage has no practical purpose.
