Emergency extended battery | |||||||||||||||||
Wouldn't it be great if each mobile phone manufacturer build in extra battery life into each cell phone for emergency calls only. This battery "reserve" couldn't be used unless you dial 911 or a pre-programmed number you entered at the time you got your cell phone. Perhaps there's a pre-determined emergency battery life reserve for several minutes. Thoughts?

The iPhone has this, sort-of. There are "different" batteries for the phone and the iPod portions. So you can still listen to your tunes even when the phone is dead. But I think it would be a great idea to always save some battery for 911.
