This should not be necessary, but perhaps we need to look into some kind of reward system for our business communities say, to publish their name in some public record, IF they hire a welfare recipiant INSTEAD of an illegal immigrant. Wellfare people that are often able-bodied and of legal age are receiving money from our system while they do NOT work, and at the same time illegals are claiming that they do the jobs that nobody else will do in this country. Our country needs to give the business community the oportunity to correct their judgement to hire the illegal person, and give them a pat on the back because they hire a person receiving welfare, thus: getting the job done at a cheaper rate and doing it legally, while removing the carrot before the illegal immigrant that entices him to cross the border, giving some self esteem to the welfare recepient; and at the same time giving back to our government something on the dollars spent to support the welfare program. Two birds, one stone; integrate legal citizens with legal businesses.

There is nothing wrong with giving jobs to people on welfare if the jobs provide a decent living but illegals, from what I've read, will live in horrible crowded conditions to save money to send back home and probably work for less than the welfare people. Business will, by its conformity to the bottom line, pay as little as possible for workers whatever their origin.
There is something admirable about providing employment of any kind, any pay-rate, to any person.
There's something even more admirable about paying people from your own culture/country first... then everyone else. I say, hire any and all that are in the unemployment lines that are legal citizens FIRST, then anyone else... AFTER they've become legitimate and/or legal! Assimilation should be a requirement of most positions within a business, but I'm not going to police that! It's just that for me, I'd want to ensure that my employees are of the same cultural stand-point (assimilated into American culture) as the rest of the country.
If one thinks about it, I wonder how much of the "race" issue is more about culture than race!?! I'd bet (and no one will probably back me up on this who's black) that the majority of our issues is NOT based upon a skin color, it's based upon a predisposition of how one views the world. This could and would involve social, economic, as well as familial, governmental, and societal aspects of life as well. It's just a thought I'm working on, that would re-label some to be NOT racists, but "culturalists!" (Culturalist: one who views those within his cultural world-view better than those on the outside of that cultural world-view.) As long as we keep talking about race (when it's actually culture that we're arguing about) the argument will never legitimately be fixed - which is maybe the idea of the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Without contention in the arena of all the supposed (and some obviously legitimate) racists, they'd be out of business! (Which I thought would be the idea of the likes of Martin Luther King, Jr., etc.! You know, kinda like the doctor should be in terms of people with their health!) Just an idea!
To do this, the government would have to stop having employers pay the taxes for their employees and stop the employers paying for government programs related to employment.
For instance I know that workman's comp insurance for a printer is $2.71 an hour--paid to my state. To an employer legally hiring a printer this isn't optional--he Must pay the $2.71 to the State to hire a printer. This is regardless of what wage the printer makes (this is a twelve-dollar-an-hour type of job). In addition, he must pay the Social Security, the Unemployment and he must withhold the income and State tax. So to hire a legal $12/hr person, he pays something like $18/hr not even counting the normal overhead of insurance, 401K, etc.
But hire the same person 'under the table' and you can pay him $15, he's happier and you've save (until you're caught).
Also, the illegal thats willing to risk everything to come here and work will work much harder than a person that has no pride and was willing to accept a dole check while he sleeps late.
I personally am in favor of eliminating welfare. Offer those 'people kibbles' so nobody starves if you must. It's true that the illegals do jobs that welfare people aren't willing to do. Because welfare people usually aren't willing to do any job that involves work.
Being.still, I noticed that you made a big speech about "racists" being really "culturalists" after saying that you believe that employees should be required to assimilate to American culture. Doesn't that make you a "culturalist"? Shame on you!
We should stop paying welfare to illegal immigrants-PERIOD!! If you need welfare, you should have a social security number and be a U.S. Citizen! Welfare should be looked at as a "helping hand" when you need it, and I feel that there should be limitations put on it. Unless you are disabled, they should be able to find some sort of a job to subsidize what they are being given. People need to be forced to work within that time (and during so they can save) at which time they should have savings and a job to support themelves. Our country is heading in to a depression.......we need to take care of those that have worked and the elderly on social security first. There are A LOT of people sitting on welfare that are just doing it because we let them. Many are on drugs, sell drugs, or are just too lazy. When it comes to these things in my children...it's called "TOUGH LOVE"...We can make available subsidized daycare facilities for those that work, but NOT a total handout!!
