The WhyNot suggestion process is clunky. WhyNot allow me to click a link from any page that takes me to an improved version of the existing Suggest an Idea page that allows me to pick from all categories and sub-categories, instead of making me go to the "right" category first? Example: If I have an idea for improving subway travel, I'm not sure if there is a subway category or a transportation category since the homepage doesn't show all categories at once. I think that implementing this idea would improve the usability of this otherwise very cool site.

It seems to me that showing all categories unsorted would be more confusing than the present system.
Gosh, Sand, I never said "unsorted". It would be a mess unsorted. Please consider my idea modified to:1) Have a sorted list of existing categories to pick from, 2) Have a search feature to make it easy to find existing categories.
I'm with you on making things easier but foggy on what you suggest. Scrolling down on the home page reveals all the main categories now. How would you change it?
What I think he's suggesting is that the main page should show not just first-level categories but all subcategories beneath them, so he can go to the correct subcategory in one click, without having to go into the category itself to find out. I don't see the current arrangement as a major problem, but if a fix would be easy, why not?
