Weigh drive-through orders | |||||||||||||||||
For many fast food orders, the weight of each part should be fairly standard. A scale could tell them when they forgot to add my fries or whatever, brcause the order process made a checklist, and they could know how much the bag should weigh. The owner might also want to know if we are sending over-stuffed fries, etc. I know it would not work in some situations, but I think it would for many.

It might work.I know some factories weigh their product at various stages in production to ensure it at least has the correct mass at a particular stage.
Scales are already VERY prevalent in the foodservice industry in attempt to reduce waste... however I haven't heard them implemented as you mentioned -- to make sure orders are complete.
Two possible snags here are:- Some foods are sold by volume, and the weight would vary- Customers love to customize their meal ("no tomato", "extra ketchup", etc).. to a system to account for this would be necessary.
Keep developing this idea.
