I think that we should be able to provide "bluetooth" technology in fashion earrings. The receiver and speaker could be in the earring and a dangling decorative loop could provide an antenna. If necessary, the speaker could be plugged directly into your ear and connected to the small earring.

Yes, but it will be trickey to get enough variety so people do not go, "oh, one of those" right away. And you will NOT want to lose that earring.
One of those seems not to have disturbed the Ipod.
Sand- I think the iPod is a status symbol unto itself, but an earring with a function will be seen (ironically) as silly. I admit, though, that my mis-understandings of fashion can be large indeed. Still, I think many people think "I wish I had that ipod" but "idiot with bluetooth".
Would a decorative bluetooth be seen as clever, or nerdish? Fashionable earring vs. pocket-protector.... I do not have the answer, this was just my impression.

Circuitry isn't small enough yet to make an "earring set" that wouldn't look hideously huge, plus you'd still need a decent battery and a way to charge it..
