What does it take to get comments & votes for ideas here? I see a ton of ideas with one or two votes. I'd like to see people get a lot more chatty. Use the no-opinion if you need to, but vote.

I also highly recommend trying to see how each idea might work, even if it needs a big change. Some ideas are just crap (eliminate free speech for people I don't like) but others... just try to improve each idea you come across. It can be a lot of fun.

If anyone comments on my ideas I try to visit their ideas & leave some feedback. I have not been here that long, but I think things would be a lot better if we'd make more votes & comments.

If you are not sure what I mean here, just ask me!

Comments are nice, no doubt. However, comments are only good when someone either has some useful input or is passionate about the subject. I would rather not wade through a bunch of useless comments that people posted just for the sake of commenting. That has ruined many a message board.

Well, I did ask for people to offer suggestions for improving each idea. I have not noticed a problem with too many comments here -- quite the reverse. Thanks for your comments, Matt, every little bit helps.

Ironically, my first vote in asking people to vote more is a no. I wonder if there might be another website like this one, but where people try to, I don't know, encourage more and better ideas?

If I had to sift through 3 dud comments to get to every good comment, that would seem to me to be a huge step forward as compared to the current dearth.

Wizard:

I did not mean to be so negative in my earlier post. I do see what you were getting at.

Best Wishes,

Thanks Matt, I appreciate that. I'm struggling a bit because I thought this would be fantastic, but a lot of people just want to post their idea & wait for the applause. Now, that is pretty natural & I was hoping for a lot of attention as well... but after you look around I think "we" need to promote discussion. I am saddened by all the ideas that get only the owners vote. My goal is to vote as much as possible, try to see the best way "it" might work instead of the 99 ways it could fail, and improve the original idea, if I can.

Cheers-
