Auto Collisions would trigger a large puff of smoke on impact. Think about it, you pay attention when you see that puff of smoke up the road. It could be installed on the front, back, and sides of autos. Joe in Florida

And in case injured survivors attempt to extricate themselves it presents an additional confusing problem in escaping a dangerous situation.
So 2,3,4 cars all collide and the road is covered in a huge cloud of smoke? Maybe flashing emergency lights that only come on in the event of an accident?
Making a smokescreen or anything that impedes vision on the road is really not a good idea.
