Recycling is important not just for the environment, but also for providing jobs to people, thus boosting the economy.

Therefore, Hollywood should show the public that the former recycles. This could be carried out in two ways.

One way, which will be harder to achieve, is to involve them recycling as a matter of habit before the public in movies, regular TV, cable/satellite, and other media.

The other way, which is more realistic, is to make movies cocerning this activity (that it reduces a polluted environment and) that it provides jobs to the unemployed. The movie can vividly portray the difficulties welfare recipients go through, and how some exit poverty by getting a job in recycling. Additionally, a movie can depict how some single-earning poor families find another job (in this case, recycling) so that they walk into a better financial situation.

So far as my film studies go, making a movie with a specific theme in mind is something that documentaries do very well, and fictional works do poorly. All that is needed to make such a documentary are people dedicated enough to do the videography and edit the work into a coherent movie.

As for fiction, more attention is usually paid to the characters and how they interact. Since recycling is an action, it could fit in as something like a character quirk (man recycles things he shouldn't, or doesn't recycle when it is easy to do so), or part of the plot (group abuses metal recycling by defacing statues).

It is insulting to explicitly tell an audience through a movie that doing something is good/bad. Rather, themes in a movie should provoke ideas and thought, or provide motivation for a character. The mere presence of recycling taking place in movies should do plenty (think about smoking).

AMERICAN ENERGY WASTE is EVERYWHERE !

Energy waste in America is horrendous, sinful, stupid, and FIXABLE !(1) We stupidly over heat and over cool our homes, businesses, offices, schools, churches, etc...(2) 10's of millions of outdoor lights burn during the day.(3) Most Americans do not minimize their driving.(4) Over packaging is the norm. Recycling is a joke. Our landfills are as busy as ever.(5) Road construction in America is the ultimate contradiction and is perpetuated by graft that entail Billions of dollar$.

The ONLY SOLUTION is to dramatically reduce America's energy waste and over demand using the economics of taxing energy, in lieu of Federal Income Tax. ONLY then would conservation finally have mass appeal and tangible reward. UNTIL the price of gas is $6 to $8 per gallon, hedonistic America will not significantly reduce itsover consumption and energy waste. Federal Gas Tax should be $4 to $6 per gallon and 'offset' by making Federal IncomeTax begin at $60k.

So that Americans can continue to waste energy like it doesn't matter, we continues to stupidly 'give away' our economic and political wealth to the Islamic Middle East via OPEC.If America does not reduce its demand for energy by implementing higher taxes, know that the Islamic dominated OPEC cartel is glad to let supply and demand market forces do it for us.It is our 'own dumb hedonistic' fault that the Islamics who want to annihilate us will likely succeed; using our American 'gas money' to buy the weapons needed to do so.

Geopolitical unrest is directly related to global demand for energy. China, India, and other 'developing countries' are just beginning to compete for the world's remaining natural resources. Unless energy competition is dramatically reduced, World war is inevitable. America can no longer continue to 'do business as usual'.

Ford and General Motors are quickly headed for bankruptcy, which will leave 100,000,000 Americans unemployed, ruin our economy, and lead to anarchy. Unless Ford and GM soon transition to the lucrative business of building solar and wind 'energy producers' for the world's 6.7 BILLION people reason$, they are doomed to die. The world simply cannot continue to support all the automakers. We are running out of petroleum. Wake up !

Mass transit must reward those who reduce their driving and thereby become FREE, SAFE, CLEAN, and CONVENIENT. ( Only then, will significant numbers of people use it.)

America must quickly wake up, get our heads out of our asks, and rapidly implement intelligent sustainable energy conservation, starting with the ONLY workable method; TAXING ENERGY - NOT INCOME!

* STOP the Energy WASTE *Reduce * REDUCE * ReduceAmerica is "wasting away" its economic andpolitical wealth to the OPEC and Islamic cartels.TAX ENERGY ~ NOT INCOME
