Here we are coming into winter again, and we'll be breaking out the snowshovels. We've all seen ergonomic snow shovels and heard how much easier they are on our backs so why doesn't everyone own one?

The biggest reason I can see is they break and bend very easily. The handle angle that is the easiest on the body would be 90DEG., but this is also the weakest. Why doesn't some shovel manufacturer add a support from the upper handle to the lower handle? One reason might be because it would make the shovel bulky enough that you couldn't stack them in a box for shipping. It seems they could just come up with a support that could be mounted by the consumer. They could just tape or somehow attach it to the handle, and then the buyer could mount it when they get it home. This would make the shovel much more durable and more people would buy them and there would be a lot less sore backs.

They do make a great replacement for those old junky shovels...it's called the Snowmaster Snowscoop. I bought one on their website for myself, and have since given them away as gifts every year...check them out!!!

The solution to the snow shovel problems of back strain and heart strain are solved quite handily and inexpensively by the Sno-Easy snow shovel. It's got a second handle so you don't have to bend over. Go look Sno-Easy Shovel
