we teach kids to drop and roll. why not teach everyone, including adults, that if you escape from a fire to immediately go to a specific location ( the front of the building, across the street) so firefighters can quickly determine that no one is inside. nine firefighters died this week because they thought someone who had escaped out the back was still inside. in a panic you may not think to do this but it's worth trying.
