I am wondering if it would be possible to mate a dehumidifier with a solar panel, windmill, etc. to produce drinkable water for the poor around the world. I am not sure what the relative moisture levels are in any particular region of the world, though. Does anyone else?

Getting water from humid air on a large scale would take a lot of energy. You can build cisterns to catch rain water, but that doesn't apply to drought stricken regions.

Most of the third world is over-populated, and trying to get more water, etc, just puts off the ultimate solution, which is birth control.

BTW, the same problem exists in San Diego, California, that exists in the third world. They are putting off facing overpopulation by building desalinating plants that use energy (natural gas) from thousands of miles away.

Every part of the world has a natural limit to the number of humans it can sustain.
