A cell phone device installed on a car and coordinated with the airbag system, could call 911 at the precise moment the car crashes and report the accident; with the localization technology available today for all the GSM phones, the police could locate inmediatly the car and send help. Furthermore, this system may have a "panic button" to be used by the driver at will (robbery, kidnapping, etc)

OnStar can do that, I am sure. The phone built into the system need not be GSM, just have a data and voice connection.
