Why hasn't someone written a book about all the dumb things cops have ever done while on duty. Cops are human like everyone else and probably do their share of dumb things. I have no doubt there's enough material to fill a couple books! Disclaimer: Don't get me wrong I have no vendetta or ill-will against police. I definately support America's finest. This is just for entertainment purposes only! Hey! Don't stop there, though! How about the following books: America' Dummest criminal VICTIMS... politicians...judges...the list goes on!

I have to make a correction on my post. The word "dummest" in both places should be spelled "dumbest". Since there is no way to correct my post like you can with Wikipedia this was my only recourse.
Although everybody is made uncomfortable by exhibiting their stupidity, cops are particularly touchy. Regularly they kill innocent people and are exonerated because they work in a dangerous occupation and the general feeling is that a certain percentage of innocent deaths must be accepted as in war's "collateral damage". I imagine that most cops are disturbed by this but characterizing and publicizing the unfortunate deaths as stupid is likely to evoke extremely hostile reactions from people in a difficult situation.
O.K. Some people here need to get a life! I never said ANYTHING about publicizing cops killing innocent people or even putting anything in the book that would be considered serious, sad, unfortunate, tragic, etc. There is a reason I wouldn't recommend putting that kind of stuff in the book (like cops accidently shooting/killing innocent victims):THE'RE NOT F-U-N-N-Y!!!!!! Who on EARTH would think that cops killing innocents is funny and put it in a humorous book?!!! The only things I want to see in the books are FUNNY dumb things that cops do, not the tragic things they do. Besides, when a cop accidentally hurts or kills and innocent person it's not a DUMB thing they did it's an A-C-C-I-D-E-N-T, therefore it wouldn't even qualify to be in the book in the first place duh!.
Maybe the book will be read by cops and it will loosen them up a little. Did you ever think of that!!? Maybe they need to laugh at themselves and each other like we all do?! I honestly believe that cops DO have a sense of humor. Even if YOU don't. Even if you don't think they do.
BTW: How do you know that cops are particularly touchy?? Are they ALL touchy Have you asked EVERY cop?
Do you have to be so negative and critical?
Do you ever get off this website, the web or even the computer?
I think this is one of the best ideas for a website and it has become one of my top 3 favs but I DO get away from my computer once and a while.
Get away from your computer, get out of your house and go experience the really real world for a while and take a break from the internet, computers, etc. Don't worry it will still be there when you get back!
Have you ever tried to argue with a cop and tell him he's violating your rights? Wake up and smell the tear gas.
And read this

I'm with Sand on this one. Making fun of cops is a particularly dumb idea. You might want their help someday.
Excuse me?!! Your with sand on this one?? sand doesn't seem to even know where he/she stands on this one! Have you read sand's post? First sand doesn't support the idea 'cause it could hurt cops feelings, then sand seems to despise what cops do and accuses them of violating your rights and tear gassing everyone. Doesn't sand sound really confused?!! Besides I mentioned that there are other possibilities for the book like judges, politicians, you could do movie "stars", etc. since they continue doing dumb stuff. You would have plenty of material. Your not afraid of pissing off some judges now are you?!! Obviously a few cops would be pissed at the book. WHO CARES about the whiney little crybabies. I bet more cops would buy it for laughs than would hate it. Are they really gonna deny me help because I wrote that book?? How would they know it's me?
Come on people have a sense of humor and show a little a little backbone!!
You are excused. . .
Tom, I don't think there is anything wrong with this idea, though I doubt it would be a best seller. Go ahead and write it, it sounds like it would be an amusing read. I've known a few cops and I don't think they would object as long as it was in good taste.
The idea goes back a long way. There was an old movie series called The Keystone Cops.
