When I lived in a condo near a downtown area I was getting sick and tired of the view out my windows real quick. It was a corner unit. On one side I had a view of the apartments across the street and on the other side a dismal view of a major freeway that passed in front of my building. Beyond that-MORE APARTMENTS! I was one of the lucky ones! !! Other people in the building, if they had an apartment in between others, only got a view of the building next door which was about 8 FEET away. If they had a corner unit(like the exact opposite corner I was on) had a view of the building across the alley AND that same apartment 8 FEET away. YUCK! !! Help is on the way! I finally came up with a solution one day while I was sitting around. VIRTUAL WINDOWS!! Using flat panel tv/computer monitors turned on end and hooked up to one main computer users could program in live or computer generated scenes from anywhere in the world or use preprogramed software and select from various themes (i.e. space, historic, futuristic, cartoon world, etc.).

Also to make it more interesting WHY NOT add different effects for realism such as the ability to actually open a window an have a fresh spring breeze for a mountain/prairies scene... or have the volume level increase, 3D?

Hey, it's not much but until they invent a real holodeck it may be all we got. :-)
