When you are invited to attend a wedding, you are obligated to bring a gift to celebrate the couple's big day, give them a start in live and off-set some of the weeding costs. Many people give cash or cheque in a card in lieu of a gift.
My idea is to make this a totally electronic process where you can develop a customized greeting card (supported by and selection of cusomizable greetings) and use you credit card on line to give a couple a cash gift. The couple would have to set up an secure web-site to accept the card and cash. This could be a service offering of the couple's bank.
Another value added feature of this service would be to allow the couple to respond electronically to the donor and to thank them for the cash gift (with amount automatically populated). The couple could choose from a variety of "canned" and customized responses.
What a time saver for all involved - the donor, the couple. Postage on the thankyou reponse would be eliminated and the thankyou would be received more quickly.

I like the idea ! You can even add some "snail mail" features since people appreciate to receive thank you notes by postal mail.Contact me if you want to set it up :) (elzondk at gmail dot com)
Suggest this to PayPal--I think they have the infrastructure in place for this. Maybe they'll give you a tip for your tip.
So the couple gets the cash before the wedding? Great idea :)
