A digital camera that not only records visible light but also performs a microwave texture mapping of an object. I believe this would be useful in modeling detailed and more realistic visual information in terms of insurance claims and engineering test work. If this were coupled by an appropriate 3D rendering software on a capable computer, it would show details not present in a two-dimensional picture. It would be useful for an adjuster or engineer to be able to examine the scanned object from many perspectives, and provide a better sense of scale when analyzing structural data.

Sounds like a great idea, especially for those of us who work with 3D modeling.Do you now if the technology is available for the "microwave texture mapping"?
