Traditional real estate brokerage service is facing increasing pressure from broader availability of MLS data, BuyOwner.com, Craig's List, etc. Sellers are progressively less willing to pay 6% commission for a Realtor's services. Some Realtor's now offer a "MLS Listing Only" service for a flat fee.
I believe, however, that Sellers (and buyers, too) would be willing to pay fixed fees for high-value services that Realtors provide. I envision a brokerage business that would offer its services on an a-la-carte basis, with separate fees for services related to prepping the home for sale, price analysis, MLS Listing, mailings and print ads, inspection supervision, pre-closing review, etc.
