Nowadays you can get a ton info information about a products and services via discussion forums, blogs, etc. (think trip advisor and the like) How about have this same capability for Doctors? Ever move to a new town and need to find a family practitioner? Or when you have to go see a specialist and you have no idea who is the best in your area. I think most people choose based on search results with their insurance provider online (which is mostly the closest to work or home). You could have a discussion forum that is tied to a specific doctor/provider. Then people could rate them and post comments about them. There probably are some legal hurdles get through but this would be valuable. If I can post feedback on hotels, airlines, toys, and clothes - why not on the most important think I buy - health service!

I wholly agree, not all doctors are equal. You need to weed out the good from the bad. This would provide a new incentive for poor quality doctors to improve their service or lose customers. Probably a great idea for a website.
I cannot agree more. I just had this conversation over lunch today. I had a horrible experience with a psychiatrist, and have no recourse except legal, which is really not at that level. If i were able to read post about this dr prior to going, together with credentials, that would be ideal. they are professionals and selling a service, there should be no secrets!
