A Letters To The Editor site | |||||||||||||||||
A site where you could go and bring up (and search) the latest (or old archived) letters to the editor. This would cover magazines and newspapers. The user could register and then create (and bookmark) a page so they only saw the letters to the periodicals of their choice (I don't want to have to sort through People magazine's letters to get to letters to the New York Times -- like the way I don't like not being able to customize news.google.com to exclude sports and the latest J.Lo newsflash which don't interest me) Maybe there could also be a comments option where people could just post their own little rebuttals (or whatever) on the site (these comments would just be on the site, not sent anywhere like the periodical or anything). Anyway, I've heard that the Letters to the Editor are one of the first things read when one picks up a magazine (newspapers bury them way in the back) so perhaps the periodicals wouldn't like to have this stuff up online free for all, but just thought I'd suggest it. Perhaps someone could put something together, ahem, by themselves using the existing information periodicals post daily -- like the apps people have made that download today's comic strips -- although I don't know if magazines do this as well. Anda again, not an app, but an actual web site.
