The realistic facts about actual handwashing behavior is amazingly gross. Less than 30% of men actually wash their hands (http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2007-09-17-hands-survey_N.htm?csp=34#Close) I personally hate to touch the door handles to exit a public restroom, therefore, we were able to invent the Footpull (patent pending. Being able to leave the restroom by utilizing your foot instead of grabbing the "contaminated" door handle is a great relief. I've never had to go back to my table to finish eating with my feet. However, my hands ARE very important when eating, and they need to remain sanitized. www.footpull.com

I have found it useful to merely use my shoulder against the door to push it open. Lavatory doors are not usually latched.
I noted the report cited did not test the door handles to see what kinds of pathogens were living there. That's interesting in that there are probably as many of the same things on money as there are on bathroom door handles.
The report did say that only 25% of people surveyed reported washing after handling money. If the same rate lied about that as lied about washing after using a restroom, well, there's a whole population out there with filthy fingers just trying to covertly get you germaphobes sick.
I, for one, am not going to waste any time worrying about it.
good idea. i've seen toilets with a foot flush, why not the doors.
yeah, it's a bit germophobic. and where do you draw the line?
Hmmmm. . . Maybe the people who are afraid of the restroom doors are using dollar bills to avoid touching the doors when they open them.
