A couple of years ago I searched for an all-fridge and all-freezer and found a few but none of the freezers had ice makers. Apparently, there's now at least one (Frigidaire) on the market that's "ice maker ready" but it doesn't have the dispenser on the outside of the door (as in many side-by-side models), nor does it have the water dispenser. Why wouldn't these be easy features to offer on all-freezers? I would think those of who who've become accustomed to the convenience of easily dispensable ice and water and want two separate appliances would appreciate having these options - what do you think?

Likely because on other freezers there is no room for an ice maker or water dispenser. Maybe they get installed wrong, so there is no after-purchase option.
I hope I am not too late for your renovation. Here are two options: Bosch and Thermador. They are pricey, but they each make columns, fridge and freezer separated. The fridge comes in 18, 24 and 30 inches. The freezer comes in same sizes, and you can mix and match. The 24" freezer has the in-door water dispenser option. I hope this helps. Good luck!
I think that's a very good idea on the lower end upright freezers. I have one and an ice maker would be very nice.
