I don't live where I grew up so my sports teams are non-local. Likewise, all of "comforts of home" from my childhood are in another state. As a supporter of satellite TV, I favor the 'power of the people'. It's in the vein of 'picking and choosing channels' but it centers around the 'local' channels you can receive. I think you should be able to designate a city as your 'home' and you should be able to receive all the local channels from your current local home and the home you designate - allowing you to keep up with where your grew up.
