Key light | |||||||||||||||||
I have found those very small LED lights with tiny batteries very useful but all that I have seen have a key ring at the rear end of the light so it is not very useful in using a key in the dark. It would be more useful if a slot in the plastic case were under the light bulb where the rear of the key could be inserted and fastened. Then the light beam would be pointed in the same direction as the active end of the key and be much more useful.

I have seen keychain.com. You need to replace the battery/cell in thekey. A better alternative is have light(with the new high intensity LEDs) on the lock instead of the key powered by 2 AAA cells. I have seena Chinese (LED) torch, the amount of light it gives is amazing. A touchswitch on the lock should activate the light. This looks morefunctional than having a single led on the key
That sounds like a great idea. It's so great, in fact, that VW has already done it. My Cabrio key has the very same handy-dandy light you describe.
As they say, tihs idea is "baked:" I recently had several duplicate keys made. The keys themselves have built-in LED lights; not very expensive, about $2-3 each, but I have no idea if I can ever replace the tiny cell that powers them.
