Now place in into your shoping bag. After your finished shoping you go to any checkout booth Incert your card & pay and leave. No long lines.

In other words, a bunch of card activated vending machines.
It would take up more volume, or have less stock/variety, plus the costs of maintaining the vending machine, and the logistics of restocking them securely.
That'd take lots of card readers if the supermarket sells lots of different stuffs! That cost can be amazing. Maybe something better can be used instead of cards/cardreaders to reduce costs.
