They say cockroaches can live through anything including a nuclear war.

Just for the heck of it, next time we send a spacecraft to Mars, we should release a few cockroaches. We can even put little cameras on their backs and they are sure to be more mobile than that pesky Mars rover.

Without people to keep them warm and feed them they can only live in temperate climates. I don't think Mars qualifies at this point. But once we establish a mission there the cockroaches will be sure to follow.

Why not give a guy who has no capability to use upper and lower case a trip to Mars with a few cockroaches in his underwear to spur him into activity? If one of the cockroaches is named Archie he will at least have a companion in exclusive use of upper case.

i dont think they could live without oxygen, and it would suck to ruin our potential new world..with our old worlds worst pest....but hey...biological machinery is the holy grail of science....and this idea is a glance in the right direction....thumbs up...

top idea. put say 1000 cockroaches there and a 2kg bag of sugar and if they can survive then they reproduce and could eat the dead cockroaches.
