IT IS PRETTY CUMBERSOME TO CARRY YOUR DVD'S FOR A PRESENTATION.THEY NORMALY DO NOT FIT INTO YOUR POCKET. WHY NOT CHANGE THESHAPE OF A DVD FROM A DISC TO A CYCLINDER? A ONCE CENTIMETRE DIA AND A 4 INCH CYCLINDER ON WHICH THEDATA IS BURNT. IT WILL BE VERY CONVENIENT TO CARRY - CHEAP. A NEW DVD ROM WILL HAVE TO BE DEVISED TO READ/WRITE AND REWRITETHESE CYLINDRICAL DVD'S.

Flat Optical discs are cheaper to manufacture, and are more stable, with only one spindle. Not to mention the factories are already set up for them and flat optical drives.
If it is ultimate portability you want that flat optical discs don't offer, you can use a flash drive, or online video storage.
I think you'll be happier with a flashdrive.
