SOLAR WINDTURBINES | |||||||||||||||||
WHAT THE HELL IS A SOLAR WINDTURBINE? A EIGHT OR TEN BLADED WINDTURBINE (not the traditional three bladed one, to increase the area of solar collection ) THESE BLADES HAVE SOLAR PANELS ON THEM. THEY WILL SENSE THE WIND AND CHANGE THE ANGLE OF ELEVATION TO CATCH THE WIND OR WHEN IT BECOMES CLOUDY. THEY WILL TURN THE WHOLE BLADE ASSEMBLY VERTICALLY TO CATCH THE SUN RAYS, WHEN IT IS BRIGHT AND SUNNY. THESE CAN BE DEPLOYED IN AREAS WHICH HAVE BRIGHT SUNGLIGHT AND HEAVY WINDS SO THAT THEY CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BOTH. THEY CAN FUNCTION HAS A SOLAR COLLECTOR IN THE DAYTIME AND SWITCH TO THE FUNCTION OF A WIND TURBINE AFTER SUNSET.

It's too loud.
Solar works best when properly aligned, something that would be difficult at best on a fan blade. Just build 'em separately.
THE IDEA IS HAVE A NUMBER OF BLADES NOT A CONVENTIONAL 3 BLADE STUFF TOINCREASE THE AREA OF COLLECTION - IN ADDITION TO THIS IT WILL HAVE ASENSOR TO RE-POSITION ITSELF EVERY FEW MINUTES TO EXPOSE THE MAXIMUMNUMBER OF CELLS TOWARDS THE SUN.
I agree with the concept, but its viability would be limited to industrial or commercial applications due to noise and size. Also cost might be an issue for residential application.
hi , my self abhinav. i m here in india. n i m a engg. student. i m working on the same project. if get some results on this, plz send me if i will get something i mailed u. my email id is abhi.kabhi007@gmail.com
The poster has some misunderstandings based on perhaps an incomplete knowledge of the science involved. Adding more blades will not make a wind turbine more efficient- the most efficient designs use two well-engineered blades. Why combine solar and wind on one platform? Wind generation is much cheaper. You don't need active electronics to steer a wind generator, either; that can be done passively.
