LAPTOP HANDLE | |||||||||||||||||
MOST OF USE A LAPTOP BAG TO CARRY OUR LAPTOPS AROUND. I FINDIT VERY CUMBERSOME TO LUG AROUND A LAPTOP BAG. LAPTOPS HAVEBECOME SMALLER - THEY ARE NOT DELICATELY BUILD ANYMORE -WHY NOT HAVE A HANDLE MOULDED TO THE LAPTOP- ONE HALF TO TOWARDSTHE KEYBOARD END THE OTHER TOWARDS THE LCD MONITOR END - WHENYOUR CLOSE THE LAPTOP BOTH THESE HALFS OVERLAP TO MAKE A COMFORTABLE CARRYING HANDLE. THE HALF THE KEYBOARD END CAN HAVEA SPONGY PAD TO MAKE IT COMFORTABLE WHEN USING IT. I HAVE CHECKEDSO MANY LAPTOP MODELS INCLUDING THE ONES MADE BY SONY - NO ONESEEMS TO HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS ANGLE IN A LAPTOP.

Although a handle would undoubtedly be handy the space within a laptop is exceedingly tight and adding a handle would in effect increase the size of the unit. Since a laptop fits nicely within a small flexible carrying case with a handle and the case also adds extra protection for the instrument it seems to me that the carrying case is a better solution.
the 'one laptop per child' project agrees with you.

A single bulky handle looks ugly. Two half handles one at the keypad and theother at the monitor which overlap to form a single handle will look moreaesthetic.

THIS UNIVERSAL HANDLE JUST MIGHT WORK;

MY CONCEPT IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT - TWO HALFS OF THE HANDLE - ONE AT THEMONITOR SIDE AND THE OTHER AT THE KEYBOARD SIDE - WHEN YOU CLOSE THELAPTOP IT FORMS A CARRYING HADLE
