See-through fuel pump hoses | |||||||||||||||||
why can't they make see-through fuel hoses so that consumers can see the actual fuel being pumped in. probably we can add the fuel pump handle and the entire pumping apparatus itself.Sort of an oversized iced-tea machine where we can see the actual fuel circulate. Kids would love to watch the fuel travel through the machine then to the hoses and then into the car.surely, the fuel station will have an added attraction.

I'm just guessing here but I'd say it would be because the hoses are reinforced with cords or wires so they don't crack, break, or blow apart and soak you with gasoline.
Cords & wires are hard to see through. . .
Beyond the problem of reenforcement fuel is essentially a colored fluid and when it fills a hose in transit to a tank there is no movement to be seen. It's not particularly entertaining.
Old fashioned pumps had a little wheel with vanes that was turned by the gas. Very entertaining and hypnotic to watch. As I recall it was near the readout.
