Cell Phone scramblers for cars | |||||||||||||||||
A roof mounted device that shuts off all cell phone wavelengths and keeps them unusable until other drivers are 100-150 ft away from your vehicle. Sort of like an EMF generator, but only for cell phone signals. It wiull make the roads slightly safer, as people yakking away on their phones will see that they have no signal until they are the minimum distance away from your vehicle. Granted, this idea is probabaly illegal as according to the FCC rules on communication wavelengths, but for those of us who have been in accidents where the offending vehicle operator (they can't drive, so I don't call them drivers) was talking on their cell phone when they hit us.

Pedestrians and bicycles will just have to take their chances.
Though I seldom Make cell calls while driving, I often respond to them. If I were passed by someone that jammed my call and made me lose it, I'm far more dangerous trying to redial than I was just answering. Also, since it wouldn't be clear to me why the call dropped, I would be trying to return the call at least five times while driving jammed. Sounds like it would be unsafe to me.
