THE CONCEPT A DVD WRITER AND A LABEL PRINTER ROLLED IN ONE.THE DVD DISC COULD HAVE A THIN THERMAL FILM ON THE UPPER SIDE FOR LABEL PRINTING. ONCE YOU INSERT THE DISC INTO THE WRITER YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO WRITE AND LABEL WITH THE DVD WRITER. THIS CONCEPT SHOULD BE VERY USEFUL IN A LAPTOP.

Look up Lightscribe. It does that with a specially sensitized label coating. You flip the disc over to "burn" the label using the DVD writer's laser. The next step would be to add a label side laser or ink depositor.
