G.B.Shaw made an attempt to make the alphabet more logical and even published a book in his version but it never took. Language is a matter of tradition and common usage and not amenable to regulation no matter how logical. Tough luck.

"Hooked on Fonix" didn't go anywhere for the same reasons this won't. As anal, redundant, or frustrating as our present system is, once you do it for a while you get used to it.
